I am a California native, born in Los Angeles in 1966. I am the youngest of four boys. My earliest influence and inspiration in music has to be my Auntie Gogi, most recognized as Gogi Grant. She is a true icon from the 1950's & 60's. It was at a very young age of about 4 or 5, after seeing her perform at various family functions, when I realized that one could sing and perform their own music. My next influence has to be my oldest brother Mike, who played music and used to just quiz me on Beatles songs when I was about 6 years old. The music I make is active, subtle, unusual, dark, beautiful... influences include groups like thw Church, Julian Cope,a lot of 60's, 70's, 80's stuff. I am not as concerned with the decade the music came out of, as the approach. I like layers of sound, some natural grit, some finesse. Not overly-reliant on effects, not afraid to use them. I would like to meet people open to creative recording, possibly leading to playing out, but not bent on that. If you are good with Apple's Logic software, that is great.
