"VEHICLE”...Worship and Prayer Traveling Team Donn and Sheila Schmidt Columbia City, Indiana 260-609-4944 OUR STORY... We received a Call from the Lord to become Worship and Prayer Missionaries.This Call gave birth to a Team of people called…“VEHICLE”.This Team includes Musicians, Technicians, Prayer Warriors, Dancers, Teachers, Pastors and all the mobile sound equipment necessary to Praise the Lord, rather in our back yards, neighborhoods, surrounding areas and out of town locations. After serving as Worship/Prayer Leaders in three Churches over the course of ten years we found ourselves dry, burned out and beat up. We knew we had to do something about it... So, our Missionary calling was birthed out of a total surrender and seeking Gods face in the midst of a much needed ‘nine month’ sabbatical in 2002. In seeking God, we visited Church after Church for direction in life with Him. We grew more than ever in that time of no commitment with the local Church… We came to know God at a deeper level than ever before… We knew that making music, intercession and the Worship of our Lord was the ultimate place for us. We wanted to help others experience this deep connection with the Lord and teach that true Worship from the heart, mind and soul coupled with perseverance and the determination to know God is the answer to everything in life. We thought a way to help others was to meet with any denominational Leader or Christian group who loves and serves the true Jesus Christ, to offer some type of Worship/Prayer service to them… as an occasional activity to their existing ministries. The call to this Mission exploded in our hearts. A Worship/Prayer team made up of different denominational backgrounds, talents and gifting began to unfold... preparing to go to any Church, park, meeting or back yard as the Lord led. Then the Lord gave us the name “VEHICLE” and said, “You will be “ON THE MOVE” ushering in My Love and Spirit through music and prayer by obeying My Commission to ‘GO’ make followers of My Son, Jesus.” God said that we were to submit to one another within the Team, holding each other accountable to Him in order to escape the danger of becoming ‘lone-rangers trying to do our own thing’. He also said that we were to place ourselves under the guidance and gifting of His people groups and Leaders as a way to promote unity… then He would manifest His Presence through the love and acceptance of one another, peace, and the power of agreement. He said that He would go before us and become our rear guard if we would humbly yield to Righteousness… Pray and seek His Face! Since 2003, God has affirmed the call by pouring out over 40 songs into Donn’s spirit. We know that we are to share these songs with God’s creation. We know that we are called to “Go Out” and minister to the world. We know that God desires others to join us in this Mission… For the voice of the Lord is saying… “Whom shall I send, who will go for Us?” We said, “Here we are, send us!” and He said… “Go… tell this people!” (Is. 6:8) Donn is a lead vocalist and lead guitarists. I am a vocalist. My brother Bryan leads in vocals and is our bass player. We have led worship in three Churches for about 10 years. We have traveled with our Team "VEHICLE" for about five years...We love to worship the Lord. We devote our time in writing songs and playing songs from the top 100 contemporary Christian song lists. We are working on recording up to 40 original songs and hope to have a demo CD soon. We love to play contemporary music with a Rock groove...such as songs from 'Third Day', 'Mercy Me', 'News Boys', 'Chris Tomlin', 'Jason Upton', 'David Crowder', 'Aaron Shust', 'Darrell Evans' and 'Jeremy Camp'. We are looking for "Sold out on the Lord Jesus" people...We need people who have the deep desire to love Jesus with their lives, gifts and talents. A Drummer is our #1 priority right now although the team will be made up of many drummers, guitarist, vocalist...etc... so that when the need arises we will formulate the team according to availablity... sort of an "On Call" kind of situation.
