I am looking for one to four other people to start a small folksy/indie/pop-ish/soul-ish group. I haven't played any gigs yet and desperately need to gain some good experience, but I am still learning and am willing to take anything anyone teaches me. I have a fairly good voice and can belt pretty well. I have a rougher voice, but I can blend well.
I started playing guitar last year and have been catching on pretty quickly, but I still have a lot of work to do. I can play simple chords though and melody lines. I am also a fairly decent piano player and can play melodies and chords without much trouble.
I write a lot of poetry so I don't really have much trouble with lyrics, but I am completely open to other ideas and suggestions, and would love to have someone else who is passionate about getting their thoughts across through song. I have been able to come up with some pretty good melodies, but as far as getting harmonies in and more complex lines, I could definitely use some help.
Let me know if you would be interested in starting a group with me. I am not looking for something serious-serious, but if we get good enough, playing local coffee shops and venues would be great fun. Cheers! |
