We play rock, funk, blues and grunge. Typically we practice these covers - House of the Rising Sun - Everlong foo fighters - simple man Lynyrd Skynyrd - when I come around green day - The middle jimmy eat world - La grange ZZ top - House of the the rising sun - Creep Radiohead

My experience also includes performing alongside the Hollies, Glitter band, the Union Gap and I have performed at the BBC studios in London. Worked with members of the band called Love affair from the sixties and Mungo Jerry from the eighties.

I am a guitarist, been playing for a long time so reasonably accomplished but not a great musician. Played with other people in the 80s , a few gigs and a couple of recording sessions.
I practice Mainstream Rock and Pop music, recently Beatles, Chilli Peppers, but anything that has prominent guitar parts is fine.
Just interested in playing with other musicians, if it leads to gigs then fine, if not that is also fine.

Hiya, 40 year old dad here who started playing electric bass guitar rather late in life as it was my dream since I was little but never had the chance to learn, apart from some systematic keyboard piano lessons (people would call it midlife crisis…). Currently active member of some music groups and acts. Practicing on a daily basis, I know around 100 full songs from various artists, expanding constantly with new ones. I can learn a reasonably difficult new bassline within the hour with typically a few days to perfect it. Basic knowledge of music theory, but enough to improvise and jam with other musicians and create new music. Favourite genre is modern/ alternative/ classic rock, and I use a variety of effects and overdrive/fuzz pedals to dial in the right tone, often rockier than the original recording. Favourite bassist is Chris Wolstenholme from Muse, of whom I can play the majority of their hits with a good approximation of Chris's legendary thunderous tone (including “Hysteria”). I also play selected songs of Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, U2, ZZ Top, The Clash, The Heavy, Black Keys, Blur, Daughtry, Linkin’ Park, Incubus, Evanescence, Audioslave, Tool, Marilyn Manson, Gun, The Guess Who, Ferdinand, Lenny Kravitz, The Beatles, The Black Keys, The Kinks, Cream, Pink Floyd, Credence Clearwater Revival, George Thorogood, Ted Nugent, Bill Withers, Motörhead, Linkin Park, Jimmy Hendrix, Brian Adams, Portishead, Eurythmics, The Animals, T-Rex, Depeche Mode, … . I can slap as required, but I mostly enjoy experimenting with creating unique tones (or recreating the tones of original recordings), and playing finger-style with effects and distortion, from light crunchy overdrive to heavy punchy fuzz. I own various basses (and guitars) and can play in various tunings. Willing to experiment with other genres too like pop, pop-rock and art-rock. Looking to join an active originals/covers band, as my current musical ventures with other musicians are not frequent enough, or at least find other likeminded musicians to play with, hopefully evolving to play live at pubs and other gigs. I have a flexible full time job, but keen to make my music passion a part time employment.
The demos are recorded straight from the amp's DI out into the audio interface, no processing, no editing, no GarageBand virtual effects, real "live" sound in one take, using real pedals (and some string noise!). Backing track is synth-generated, pretty horrible but complies with copyright laws. (Audio files EQed for audible poorly represented bass on midrange-y speakers like mobile phones / laptops, if you have a woofer turn down its volume to hear the backing track! Overall looses many low frequencies though, so the bass tone sounds more distorted with high frequency sizzle that it actually is.)
Demo 1: Boulevard of broken dreams by Greenday. Unlike the original bass tone, some mild overdrive with high mids is blended in to slice more easily through the mix without being completely swallowed by the guitars. I usually play it with even more fuzz, this is a lighter version not too dissimilar from the original.
Demo 2: Supermassive black hole by Muse. Overdriven bass tone with fuzz/clean blend, matched to the studio isolated bass track, but when laid over the synth-generated backing track sounds quite different and much more harsh/distorted.
Demo 3: Time is running out by Muse. The studio version is pure sawtooth from synth for the intro, switching to overdriven bass for the prechoruses, as the sawtooth tone would sound pretty horrible there (I've tried). Instead, I used a blended fuzzy/clean tone throughout which matches pretty close the sawtooth, and also how CW has occasionally played it live if not using a keyboard synth (or a touring musician on keyboards or a midi sequence).
I have plenty of other recordings and covers with original backing tracks available on request (

Shallowdaze are a Reading based emerging original alternative rock band inspired by acts such as The Cure, Wolf Alice, and Slow Pulp.
We are ambitious, dedicated and experienced musicians with individual past experiences such as supporting Tame Impala, touring major UK and European festivals and recording an album under an independent record label in New York.
We are female fronted and therefore are ideally looking for a female drummer between the ages of 20-30 to match our singer’s age range and create a balance within the band. The ideal drummer will be of a high standard, with recording experience, able to play to a click, right handed and happy with a one-up one-down set up to enable you to rehearse at the guitarist’s house on his electric kit.
You will be able to rehearse up to twice a week, Sunday and Thursday evenings, and be available for gigging starting the end of this year.
This project is more than a hobby for us and we aim to play festivals and get on support tour(s) in the next year or so, release more recorded music, and take the project as far as it can go.
Demo available on request

Looking to team up with one or more instruments to play some modern pop/rock with a smooth soul or jazz twist.
I'm a lyrical singer with a cocktail jazz/swing/blues/indie/pop style vocal. Think PostModern Jukebox style, sultry, swingy fun and modern jazz covers of 80s pop and indie classics.
I also have a few songs that need updating - lyrics that need instrumentation. Open to your creative whim!
Looking for someone to build a set list with, who can rehearse regularly and is open to gigging - I've got lots of offers to play - just need the musicians! I'm in Reading and have somewhere to rehearse.

Lots of influences from Metal, Hip Hop, Pop, Jazz, Rock and other genres, I get pretty bored of sticking to one so writing in different genres while giving it our own spin is my goal.
I’ve been playing guitar for a few years and have a few riffs or songs to use but would like to start writing more as a band. I have a few old demos but they don’t sound too great since I had to record it all myself and i'm not the best at the production side lol, but I can send if interested.
I’m really into Queens Of The Stone Age’s approach to music and trying to make weird and unmusical sounds, musical. I’ve got a few acoustic and electric guitars/basses and an electric drum kit in my flat that my old band used for rehearsals where paying for studio time didn’t seem worth it, if needed.
Please let me know if interested or have any questions, thanks
