Starcade Groove will be a Jazz-Funk-Indie Fusion following similar styles of musicians such as Laufey, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, Anri, and Genres such as Jazz, Funk, Blues, Indie Pop & Jazz, Bossa Nova, Yacht Rock, Disco, Ska, and Pop. Along with that, We will play a mix of Original music and cover arrangements, composed and arranged by me. And For my “Don’t/Can’t read sheet music/Play by ear” Musicians like myself, Don’t worry! I always add the audio files of the full song and individual parts in the Song Specific Google drive folder!
I’m looking to form a full band of 10-16 people
Looking for:
Bass- Male or Female(Bonus if you also play Double Bass(my bass player is gonna be out for a few months so I need someone to cover for her)
Drums- Male or Female(preferably)
Guitar- Male and Female(1 each)
Keys- Male or Female
Aux Percussion- Male or Female(2 Players)

Must live in the Chicagoland area(Preferably Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Joliet, Westbrook, but anywhere in Illinois if you don’t mind the commute)
Bring your own equipment(Music Stands, Amps, Cables, etc. Really whatever you need to play)

iPad/Digital sheet music users are suggested but not required. I’ll print out copies but if you can, print your own copy just in case. I’m clumsy and forgetful and might forget to do so
If anyone has any rehearsal/recording studio recommendations or spaces big enough to fit 10-16 people, let me know, otherwise I think we’re going to rehearsal at Gremlen Recording Studios in Aurora, Il
I’m currently working on a general rehearsal schedule, but I was thinking maybe 4-6pm Wednesday-Friday and 12-4pm or 2-6pm on Saturday(I’m looking into figuring out Google Calendar so that you can add in your schedule conflicts, so we’ll know, as a band, who might to leave early, be late, or be a no show(if it’s last minute, just communicate that to me or the band to be’s group chat otherwise just put it on the calendar, I’ll look at it.) also if a majority of the band can’t show one specific rehearsal day, there just won’t be any rehearsal that day)

-In addition to the instruments I selected for the ad, I also play mandolin, some keys, and I am learning saxophone. Eventually planning to learn violin. Mostly self-taught.
-Studied music theory under instruction of a professional jazz guitarist for one year.
-Experience being a part of and managing bands. Mix of cover and original bands.
-Able to improvise and adapt to rhythmic and modal changes in live and jam settings.
-Conceptual knowledge of polyrhythms; comfortable in 2:3 and 6:4 as well as 4:3. Comfortable with odd time signatures.
-Experience with live sound mixing and PA systems. Approx 3 years.
-Experience recording, mixing and mastering songs, demos, and other musical productions both as a performer and producer. Approx 3 years.
-Looking for more opportunities to record and produce artists/bands.
-Looking to compose music/songs with others.
-Looking to share and teach music theory to any individual eager to learn.
