I am looking for a violist to play in a quartet. We typically play in each others' homes and rotate. We are all members of the Reston Community Orchestra. Our violist can no longer play with us. I have played violin for 45 years. I play in the RCO orchestra. I play my electric violin in the praise band at my church and at parties. I play mostly for fun with a few gigs here and there for friends.

I have a BA in Arts; Music as a vocalist, classically trained as a soprano but I have sung alto 2 primarily in choir settings. I can sing jazz pretty well and can catch on quicker by ear than by sight-singing. I play the violin as well and have for over 20 years.

I've been learning songs for years starting with folk music and Americana. For a while I played bass and sang with a couple of guys who sang and played guitars, but one moved on and the other died. Some of my favorite artists are Roseanne Cash, Dave Mallett, Emmylou Harris and Alison Krauss. I also like to play some Irish and Bluegrass fiddle tunes, but not too fast. Now I use Garage Band to record using voice and stringed instruments. I'm less interested in performing than in making music at home. I'm looking for someone who is retired, plays guitar and likes similar music. Being able to sing harmony is a plus. Also proximity is a necessity as is vaccination status. I'm high risk because of age, but fully vaccinated and boosted.

Hello my name is Stephen. I am a 2016 graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology with a bachelor's of science in nursing. I began taking care of patients in ICU at UPMC Susquehanna in June 2016. I did night shift for three years, and two years on days before leaving the ICU October 2021. After leaving my intentions were to transition in another critical care role. This never came to pass. This is where my conflict arises. Should I return to nursing and do what I have been trained to, or do I follow my passion of music and do what I was made to? My intuition is screaming at me to follow my appetite, reach for the stars and bite off more than I can chew. With my time I have had my attention has been increasing my musical knowledge. Studying music theory has only increase my passion and tuned me into wanting to play and create music. I want to do it all day, every day. My hope, as is it of many musicians, is to bring the sound and joy of music to people and do so in a manner to sustain a livelihood for my family.
