About me: Versatile lead vocalist / front man with a background of performing a diverse range of Rock, Pop, Blues, and Soul covers (even some Reggae, Ska and Country). All sorts covered, from Free and Black Crowes through Bryan Adams and Snow Patrol and INXS, Simply Red to Newton Faulkner, David Gray and Bruce Springsteen, Stereophonics to Razorlight and The Script - and many artists, plus decades and styles in between!
Ideally, looking to join an established band or studio project. I enjoy working with bands that offer a bit of 'light and shade' in their set lists, rather than the ‘wall of sound' approach, if you know what I mean? I’d be drawn to the idea of joining an '80s tribute band, especially alongside a female vocalist (the ’80s were half female artists) or another Band or era tribute. Or even collaborating as part of a duo/trio with a decent guitarist or keyboard player, perhaps utilising backing tracks.
Not interested in heavy rock or metal, but I can deliver the gravelly voice when needed - think Paul Rodgers, Andrew Strong, Bryan Adams etc. A pretty big range means I’m usually comfortable performing songs in their original keys alongside solid musicians, most often at larger gigs, rather than to 20 people in a pub. I have performed at The Stables and outdoor festivals, but some years back, and am now looking to relight the fuse.
In my 50s, but I maintain a youthful appearance and stay in good shape.
Making money will not be my primary motivation, and I’m not looking to gig like crazy. First and foremost, it has to be 'professional' but fun. Nobody likes moody bandmates or anyone taking themselves too seriously. I also play both acoustic and electric guitar; I wouldn't say I'm near great at either, but I can blag it for the performance value. Own gear and transport, etc.
