Lead Guitarist Wanted
OHMSMusicGroup
Akron, Summit County, Ohio
56-65 yr old Male
I play: Producer, Lead Guitar, Song Writer.
About me: OHMS — The Ohio Music Scene
O.H.M.S. stands for Ohio Music Scene — a connected network of musicians, fans, historians, and creators dedicated to preserving, promoting, and powering Ohio’s music culture across every generation and genre.
Through our nonprofit and creative arms, OHMS helps musicians and bands from every corner of the state — from Cleveland to Cincinnati, Akron to Athens — by offering spaces, platforms, and support systems that keep the scene alive and evolving.
What We Do for Ohio Musicians and Bands
OHMS Radio — a 24/7 internet station streaming Ohio music old and new.
We broadcast local acts, “NationaLocal” artists (national acts with Ohio roots), scene history, live shows, interviews, and special programming that puts Ohio music on the map.
OHMS Archive Foundation — preserving the sound and story of Ohio.
We collect, digitize, and document local recordings, flyers, photos, and oral histories — building a public archive that honors every scene and era, from garage and punk to hip-hop and experimental.
OHMS Civic Club — connecting the community.
A grassroots gathering for musicians, venue owners, collectors, historians, and fans to collaborate on preservation projects, share opportunities, and strengthen Ohio’s creative network.
OHMS Music Group — supporting the next wave.
Includes our record label, recording studio, and future record store — helping Ohio artists produce, release, and promote their work independently but with collective support.
Our Mission
To preserve the sound, connect the scene, and amplify the future of Ohio music — through radio, archives, live events, and community-driven creativity.
Who We’re Looking For
OHMS is open to anyone who cares about Ohio music — past, present, or future.
You don’t need to be famous, you just need to care about the sound, the stories, and the people who make them.
We’re looking for:
Musicians and Bands — who want their music heard, archived, and connected to the broader Ohio scene.
DJs, Collectors, and Historians — who love digging into local music history and helping preserve rare recordings, flyers, and memories.
Creators and Designers — who can help document, film, or promote the stories behind the music.
Scene Supporters and Fans — who want to volunteer, attend meetings, or help build the next generation of Ohio music culture.
Local Partners — venues, libraries, community groups, and businesses who share our mission to preserve and promote Ohio’s creative legacy.
What Participants Can Do
Share your band’s music for airplay on OHMS Radio
Submit photos, flyers, or recordings for the OHMS Archive
Join our Civic Club meetups to plan projects, events, and collaborations
Volunteer your time, skills, or stories to help document the scene
Help shape the future of Ohio music preservation and promotion
In short:
We’re looking for people who love Ohio music — and want to make sure it’s never forgotten.
