About us: We are an internet rock band, based near Southampton. We write and record our own material, as well as covering classics from legends like; Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, Foo fighters, Bob Segar & The Cranberries. We have an insulated studio/practice room above my garage, we have a YouTube Channel & we have recently released our first single on Spotify, it's called 'Complacent train of freedom', if you have Spotify check it out! (it's also available on our YouTube channel). We are all recently retired, but how old you are is irrelevant as far as we're concerned. We do this entirely for fun and at the risk of sounding immodest, we are very decent pub rock band standard, (& are happy to share examples of our material - we're currently working on a cover of Irish folk classic..... Whiskey in the Jar - it's WIP but there should be a link to it below). We're all relaxed, friendly, family guys, age is not an issue for us, doesn't matter if you're 20 or 60, as long as you're keen, can sing in tune and share similar musical tastes. We're not interested in gigging, but we love playing & writing, we constantly strive to improve the quality of material that we're putting out, and most importantly we have a lot of fun doing it!
Our awesome 30 something vocalist, a fellow founder member, has recently progressed to a full on gigging band with our gratitude and good wishes. If you also happen to be a hugely talented novice and you'd like to use us a stepping stone to greater things, that's perfectly understandable & absolutely no problem at all as far as we're concerned.
We are called 'Whole Lotta Parkinson's' and there's a clue in the title! We don't gig, because I have PD. We operate on-line because of the many interesting and occasionally embarrassing symptoms, which PD can comprise, their variable severity & how suddenly they can emerge! If that's a problem for you, then look elsewhere!
Personally I don't see it as any problem at all! Rick (drums) & John (Bass) are fantastic musicians, it's a privilege to play with them. And on my day, I can still manage to strum a few chords & play the odd tricky run , so that it sounds like we might actually have some idea of what we're doing!!
If you'd like to have a chat with us, please message me. Cheers. Rob
