About me: I’m a 22-year-old guitarist looking to put together a rock cover band with people around my age. The goal is pretty simple: get a great group together, build a killer setlist, and actually start gigging at bars, parties, local venues, and wherever else we can play.
I’m looking for this to be a cover band first and foremost. I love heavier music, but I’m not trying to make this strictly a metal band. I want us playing songs that we genuinely love but that also work well live and that people actually want to hear at a bar or show. Think classic rock, hard rock, 80s/90s rock, and some heavier stuff mixed in. Dio is probably around the heavier end of what I picture us playing.
Some of the stuff I’ve been playing lately includes Holy Diver, Paranoid, Man in the Box, War Pigs, Crazy Train, and other classic/hard rock songs. I play rhythm and lead, although lead guitar is what I’m especially passionate about, and I’ve been putting a lot of time into learning complete songs and getting them performance-ready.
The biggest thing for me is that I don’t want this to feel like four or five strangers who meet up once a week, play their parts, and go home. I want to find people I actually click with—people who want to hang out, jam, joke around, throw song ideas at each other, improve together, and eventually have that chemistry show when we’re onstage.
You definitely don’t need to be some insane musician. I’m still improving myself. What matters to me is that you’re reliable, willing to learn your parts, excited about playing live, and actually want to make something happen.
My dream is to have a group of friends who can walk into a packed bar, plug in, and put on a genuinely great rock show. I want a big enough repertoire that we can play full gigs, keep adding songs, and eventually become a really tight live band. If we naturally start writing our own stuff along the way, I’d be completely down for that too, but the main goal right now is covers and gigging.
Looking for singers, drummers, bassists, and potentially another guitarist. If you’re around my age and this sounds like the kind of band you’ve been wanting too, hit me up.
